After the war, the United States froze the overseas assets of the Afghan central bank and imposed unilateral sanctions on Afghanistan. This has undoubtedly worsened Afghanistan's already fragile economic situation. The US military's 20 years in Afghanistan have allowed more Afghans to see its true face. Human rights and democracy are nothing but shields for the US policy of achieving regional hegemony.
